You do not hide a good thing.

It is by nature self-diffusive. I’ll show you what I mean: How long can you keep a fiery sunset, new music, or a brilliant book to yourself? You can’t help but share it, right? In fact, the more spectacular it is, the more you long to share it. That’s because Truth, Beauty and Goodness are self-diffusive. We can't help but share it with others. Experts have even claimed sharing in delight intensifies the delight. And if it is so with sunsets, music and books, simple shadows of glory, why would it not be so with God, Himself, the Source of Glory?

I believe the spark to a Third Great Awakening in our time does not start with more soup kitchens, churches, or missionaries. No, it will be birthed through an obsession with the Nature of God, Himself, who is the inspiration for soup kitchens, churches, and missionaries. Have you ever thought about how His nature alone could fascinate us for eternity? Not only is He Almighty, Sovereign, Omniscient, Immutable, but He is brilliant, strategic, honest, committed—and when you begin to weave all His attributes together you get an amazing package of compounding, superlative perfection that just makes your mind EXPLODE!

So that is the purpose of this blog: To get the Church dreaming about God again, in Truth and in Spirit. To allow the identity of God to shed light on our culture. And to ignite an obsession worthy of a lifetime for His Glory and our delight.

EARLY CHRISTIAN DOXOLOGY

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
“Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”
“Who has ever given to God,
that God should repay them?”
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever!

Amen.
